How to Make Wet Sand and Gold in Sandustry
Exact Wet Sand recipe, Shaker outputs, approximate Gold chance, and fixes for early Sandustry production problems.
Touch one Sand pixel to one Water pixel to create two Wet Sand pixels. Drop Wet Sand onto a Shaker: it always creates one Residue and has about a 25% chance to create one Gold, which falls through the machine.
Recipe and output
| Stage | Input | Output |
|---|---|---|
| Wetting | 1 Sand + 1 Water | 2 Wet Sand |
| Shaking | 1 Wet Sand | 1 Residue + about 25% chance of 1 Gold |
A controllable starter layout
- 1
Create a walled mixing pocket beside—not inside—your main Water reserve.
- 2
Meter small amounts of Sand and Water into the pocket.
- 3
Let gravity move Wet Sand onto a downward row of Shakers.
- 4
Collect Gold underneath and send Residue to a separate side channel.
Troubleshooting
- No Wet Sand: Sand and Water are not making pixel contact.
- No Gold: a short dry spell is possible because the output is probabilistic.
- Shaker covered: Residue lacks a downward escape path.
- Water disappearing: Sand consumes Water on contact, so isolate the reservoir.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Sand to Wet Sand ratio?
One Sand plus one Water produces two Wet Sand pixels.
What is the Sand to Gold ratio?
The current official Wiki estimates roughly four Sand per Gold on average, but results vary because Shaker Gold is probabilistic.
